Lindsay Barry UX Designer

Designer Leader Problem-Solver

Hi there! I'm Lindsay, a UX Designer based in the city of Chicago. I’m passionate about creating thoughtful, intuitive designs that make everyday experiences better and simpler for everyone. With a background as both a business owner and educator, I bring a deep understanding of how people think, learn, and behave—and I love designing solutions that truly connect with users.

Whether it’s breaking down complex ideas or making something easier to use, I enjoy helping people learn and engage in ways that feel natural and enjoyable. I’m endlessly curious and always asking “why?”—digging into overlooked insights and core problems to design smarter, more human-centered solutions.

I’m especially interested in where tech meets human behavior—and how we can design experiences that feel effortless and meaningful.

Let’s work together to create something great!

My Approach

My UX design philosophy is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and intentional research. Every project I take on is guided by a deep desire to understand users and create meaningful, intuitive experiences. Here's how I approach design:

I believe great design starts with great research. Thanks to the mentorship of experienced UX designers early in my career, I learned the importance of grounding every design decision in evidence. My process involves thorough, thoughtful exploration to ensure my solutions are truly aligned with user needs. I’m also comfortable revisiting the research at any point in the process.

Research

I’m always asking “why.” My natural curiosity drives me to dig deeper and look beyond the obvious, uncovering the motivations and behaviors behind every interaction. This curiosity fuels my creativity and helps me design products that solve the right problems—leading to more thoughtful, user-centered experiences.

Curious

I approach every project with an open mind and a collaborative spirit. I believe the best ideas come from diverse teams with a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences. I embrace those different viewpoints, knowing they make the final product stronger, more inclusive, and more meaningful for the people who use it.

Non-Shop Talk

When I am not fully immersed in my projects, you will find me outside either tinkering in my garden, going on bike rides and exploring forests, swimming in the lake, or soaking up the sun with a book. I am always eager to learn a new skill, take a class, or go on an adventure. You never know what you like or what you are good at until you try it!
